It's the peak season for "Sunshine Rose" grapes in Songxingtun village, Kanjia town, Gaomi city, and in the greenhouses of the Lizhuyuan Planting Cooperative, rows of trellises hang with plump grapes. Workers are busy with a bountiful harvest.
Kanjia town's geographical and climatic advantages mean high-quality table grape cultivation, which integrate agricultural production with tourism to enhance farmers' income and support rural vitalization.
Xu Fengzhou, manager of the grape team, stated that his 34.3 hectares of Kyoho grapes yield around 10,000 pounds per hectare, generating an estimated net income of 1 million yuan ($140,600).
Since 2012, the village has boosted household incomes by over 100,000 yuan by setting up a cooperative that has cultivated 364.2 hectares of greenhouse grapes, 242.8 hectares of vegetables, over 40.4 hectares of edible mushrooms, and 202.3 hectares of apples.

Gaomi's new rural vitalization strategy will focus on specialty fruit cultivation, which now spans over 12,140 hectares with an annual output value exceeding 400 million yuan, benefiting over 3,000 farmers.
The city has cultivated various specialty fruit brands, including Kanjia grapes and Nanshan crisp pears, with over 120 large-scale plantations. The "Gaomi Grapes" brand has emerged as a hallmark of quality in Weifang and Shandong.
Additionally, the city has been enhancing rural development through the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism through events like grape and kale festivals, creating a thriving rural economy and improving the livelihoods of local farmers.(Edited by Lin Li)
