Recently, a series of events, including the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference, the SCO Industrial and Supply Chains Forum Qingdao Convention, and the SCO International Investment and Trade Expo were held in Qingdao. At these gatherings, "Gaomi Flavor" and "Gaomi Products" jointly stepped onto the international stage, showcasing Weifang's unique culinary culture and vibrant industries to the world, thereby advancing local distinctive culture and industries toward a broader global platform.
In recent years, Gaomi of Weifang City has continuously enhanced the effectiveness of its culture and tourism, embracing international cooperation with an open mindset. By fostering emotional bonds through cultural resonance, the city has made economic and trade partnerships warmer and more resilient, thereby accumulating strong momentum for the globalization of its urban brand and the pursuit of high-quality economic development.
In early July, a training program involving 57 senior officials from national ministries and customs authorities of six SCO member countries, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, visited Gaomi in Weifang. During their stay, they visited some local leading enterprises, experienced intangible cultural heritage crafts at the Red Sorghum Film City , and engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as quality inspection of home textile products.
Next, Gaomi will continue to serve as a frontier of opening-up, leveraging integration development opportunities and the national platform of the SCO Demonstration Area. By building new bridges for international cooperation through its locational and industrial advantages, the city aims to inject fresh momentum into SCO economic and trade development, support local enterprises in exploring international markets, and embrace a higher level of opening-up to the world.
